About
VISION Outreach

VISION Outreach is a youth-centered nonprofit organization committed to equipping young people with the educational experiences, emotional support, leadership development, and real-world opportunities they need to thrive.

Through STEM, social-emotional learning, urban agriculture, mentoring, entrepreneurship, and community-based enrichment, VISION helps youth discover their gifts, strengthen their confidence, and grow into purpose-driven leaders.

Our Vision

We envision communities where every young person has access to the support, skills, exposure, and encouragement needed to become confident, capable, compassionate, and purpose-driven leaders.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to plant seeds of hope, skill, resilience, leadership, and opportunity so that youth can grow into the fullest version of who they were created to be.

The Story Behind
the VISION

VISION Outreach was founded by Rev. Dr. Shaunté Brewer, an educator, minister, curriculum designer, and community leader who saw a deep need for more intentional investment in young people across Chicago and surrounding communities.

After years of teaching, mentoring, and working directly with youth, Dr. Brewer recognized a painful truth: too many young people are expected to succeed without consistent access to the programs, mentors, resources, and encouragement they need to grow.

Rather than simply talk about the problem, she chose to become part of the solution.

With a vision in her heart, a deep commitment to youth, and an initial seed donation of $50, Dr. Brewer stepped out on faith and founded VISION Outreach.

“Once our youth have a vision, hope initiates; dreams form; dedication, discernment, and diligence follow; and success becomes possible.”

Meet Our Founder

Rev. Dr. Shaunté Brewer is an educator, minister, speaker, curriculum designer, author, and community advocate committed to creating meaningful opportunities for youth and families.

Her work is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: young people need more than programs. They need people who believe in them, expose them to new possibilities, help them develop life skills, and create spaces where they can learn, lead, heal, grow, and thrive.

Through VISION Outreach, Dr. Brewer has developed programming that blends academic enrichment, social-emotional learning, STEM exploration, urban agriculture, entrepreneurship, mentoring, leadership development, and community engagement.

Her leadership continues to guide VISION’s mission to help young people discover who they are, what they can do, and how their lives can make a difference.

Be Part of the VISION

VISION Outreach began with a seed of faith, a commitment to youth, and a belief that possibility grows when people are willing to invest.

Today, that seed continues to grow through every student served, every family supported, every school partnership formed, every garden planted, every leader developed, and every donor who chooses to believe in the next generation.

Whether you are a parent, school leader, church, donor, funder, volunteer, or community partner, there is a place for you in this work.
