Meet the FounderAn educator by passion and profession, Rev. Dr. Shaunté Brewer founded VISION Outreach in 2012. Seeing a need that she could fill, Dr. Brewer left the traditional classroom to stand up and fill in the gaps that the traditional classroom was unable to address. Walking in purpose with intention to inspire the next generation to tap into their potential and be the change agents the world needs, Dr. Brewer has touched the lives of many by exposing them to new possibilities ranging from collegiate opportunities, STEM career possibilities, and urban agriculture ventures.
The youth she serves, affectionately called VISIONaries, have been inspired to go on to four-year university scholars, became published authors, are award-winning bakers, coders, animators, and photographers. Dr. Brewer herself has receive multiple awards from the city of Chicago, Chicago Public Schools, 4-H, and countless other local organizations for her dedication and merited work with the youth of Chicago. Currently, in addition to her work with VISION, she took to TikTok where she dedicates her content to teaching urban agriculture and inspiring others to recognize there is always room to grow, even in apartments, on balconies, etc. She has amassed over 24,000 followers on the platform as ChiFarmerBae. |
